flux means flux density in that pixel (that can be measured using Aladin / inthe unit of MJy/str>>you can covert it in J/s), r means distance from the centre (centre of the galaxy) where flux density is found to be maximum.

I was about to start photometry, I forget the second variable that I need to calculate to plot a graph against flux. 

One was flux labelled as ( f ) and second one is labelled as ( r ). But what does r mean, I forget. I have also attached screenshot for same. 

Also it will help me if you could share the book which has flowchart of star life cycle.
